The people of Bagenalstown in County Carlow are the stars of this opening sequence to 'Hall and Company'.

The County Carlow town of Bagenalstown is also known by its Gaelic name Muine Bheag. A young boy demonstrates to three of his friends how to correctly pronounce Muine Bheag.

Elsewhere in the town, the people of Muine Bheag go about their daily business, returning home from school, going shopping or chatting to friends.

‘Hall and Company’ is a magazine type programme which sees presenter Frank Hall travelling round the less well known towns and villages of Ireland, talking to the inhabitants. The first episode was broadcast on 15 April 1985.

This episode of ‘Hall and Company’ visits counties Carlow and Kilkenny. It was first broadcast on 19 October 1986.
