Whether taking a break at home or overseas there are plenty of ideas at the Holiday and Leisure Fair.

Two thousand balloons are released for the opening of the Holiday and Leisure Fair at the RDS. Each of the balloons is marked and there is a holiday to be won for the person who finds the balloon that travels the farthest.

Whoever finds the one which travels farthest will win a Discover Ireland holiday.

Irish holiday makers are not just looking for a holiday. They are also looking for a guarantee that they will not lose their deposits. Michael Kelly, president of the Irish Travel Agency Association (ITA), reassures holiday makers that they have a 100 per cent guarantee that their bookings are safe. From 1 April 1981, a new system of bonding comes into effect.

This will mean that anybody who pays money to a member of the Irish Travel Agency Association will have 100 per cent guarantee for that money.
