The Dublin Theatre Festival promises an eclectic programme at various venues across the city.
Michael Scott, programme manager at the Dublin Theatre Festival hopes the event to attract audiences across the city with a broad range of productions. There are serious plays like 'Northern Star' by Stuart Parker, comic plays like 'Up 'n' Under' by John Godber, absurd, strange and perhaps controversial plays like 'Tent Meeting' from Actors' Theatre of Louisville, and 'Yesterday's Lovers' by Hugh Carr starring Mick Lally and Nuala Hayes.
We've looked at a way of entertaining the people of Dublin in as many ways as possible.
There is a focus on Irish work throughout the festival, including 14 world premieres of Irish plays. The festival also introduces a nine play weekend, allowing patrons to see nine Irish productions over three or four days.
