Hopes that a new train station will help the development of Belfast city centre.

The new Belfast Central station is due to open in the autumn, which will mean the closure of Great Victoria Street and Queens Quay stations.

It is hoped that the new central station will help the revitalisation of Belfast inner city, which has been in decline in recent years.

Another new station is under construction at Botanic Avenue to serve the university. All of this is good news for Northern Ireland Railways, which predicts a growth of one-quarter for passenger business.
