Bandon launches its annual festival with the announcement of the young citizen of the year.
Minister for Transport and Power, Peter Barry opens the Bandon Week '75 Festival. The ceremony at the Munster Arms Hotel includes the announcement of the Bandon Young Citizen of the Year. From a shortlist of eight nominees, 20 year-old Leslie Doyle is awarded the title for his work in the Bandon Youth Centre.
Bandon Week organised by the local Junior Chamber, offers an adventurous programme of events including concerts, dances, quizzes, inter-pub singing and a host of exhibitions and cabaret.
The week promises to be a lot of fun.
