Niamh Kavanagh singer with the group Off the Record makes her television debut.

From Finglas in Dublin, 20-year-old Niamh Kavanagh is the singer with the exciting new band Off the Record. The group has successfully toured with Sinitta, Hazel O’Connor and the British dance pop duo London Boys.

Pat Kenny says of Off the Record,

They’ve just recorded their first single in London and insiders are predicting a bright future for them in the 1990s.

With the band en route to a gig in Melba’s nightclub in Birr, County Offaly, Niamh Kavanagh makes her television debut backed by the ‘Kenny Live’ band led by Noel Kelehan. Following her performance of ‘1-2-3’ the 1988 hit single by Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine, Niamh Kavanagh will be joining the other Off the Record members in Birr.

Niamh describes the debut single by Off the Record as,

Very commercial dance music.

Pat Kenny enthuses,

I think she’s great, I think she’s going to be big.
