Singing and dancing throughout the town as the Rose of Tralee Festival is in full swing.
A first time member of the judging panel for the Rose of Tralee says that the talent is so high this year among the entrants that it is not possible to predict a winner of the competition.
The festival is worth between fourteen and fifteen million pounds to the town of Tralee and the organising committee has a budget of about half a million pounds.
It's an excellent promotion for the region.
Bill Looney, President of the International Rose of Tralee Festival, says that a promotional campaign takes place for nine months of the year. Tralee has more to offer than just the festival with a steam train, a windmill, the medieval experience and the latest addition the Aqua Dome.
