Ireland gets a first taste of summer as the sun shines and people enjoy a day at the seaside in Bray.
Summer in Ireland arrives on the longest day of the year and the fine weather continues around the country. The temperature reaches 22 degrees Celsius in many places, only a few degrees behind the South of France and Spain.
The welcome warm spell sees an exodus to the seaside. Despite the Dublin bus strike, resorts along the east coast are busy. The promenade in Bray, County Wicklow is choc-a-bloc with sun worshippers.
The good news from meteorologists is they predict the fine weather to last for a week or more.
