In an area steeped in stories of giants, myths and legends, Paddy Murphy was born in 1834 and reportedly grew to a height of eight feet and one inch. He was said to be the world's tallest man at the time. As a man of extraordinary height, he joined the circus and travelled the world. He died in 1862.
