Drivers will have to pay for parking with meters planned for seventeen Dublin Streets.

Dublin Corporation has been informed by the Commissioner of An Garda Síochána of his plan to make changes to the 1962 parking bye-laws to allow for the introduction of parking meters in 17 city centre streets.

These include Marlborough Street, O’Connell Street and Abbey Street as shown in this footage.
The other streets are, Cathedral Street, Cathal Brugha Street, Cole's Lane, Little Denmark Street, Eden Quay, Findlater Place, Henry Street, Liffey Street, Mary Street, Northumberland Square, Parnell Street, Sackville Place, Talbot Street, and Wolfe Tone Street.

The proposed amendment of the bye-laws will be considered by the City Council at its meeting on 13 January 1964.
