Sculpture of writer and poet William Butler Yeats unveiled at Sandymount.
A bust in bronze of William Butler Yeats designed by the late sculptor Albert Power, RHA, was unveiled by Minister for Education, Brian Lenihan, The sculpture is on Sandymount Green in Dublin, near where W.B. Yeats was born.
Attending the ceremony were, the poet's daughter Miss Ann Yeats and son Senator Michael Yeats.
The sculpture is cast in bronze and was commissioned and erected by the Yeats Association. Established in 1965, the association looks the to promote the life and work of the poet through performances, lecturers and other scholarly activities.
Speaking at the unveiling Brian Lenihan said that W.B. Yeats had contributed to Irish history and literature.
