An exhibition charting a century of childhood in Ireland opens in Cavan and will spend the next two years touring the country.
The 'Seen But Not Heard' exhibtion aims to show children of today what life was like for their parents and grandparents.
Sixth class from St Clare's National School in Ballyjamesduff along with their teacher Eimear Doherty are visiting the Cavan County Museum to see how schools and life in general for children have changed over the past decade. The exhibition includes a recreated classroom from times gone and proves to be fascinating for the students of 2008. Having visited the exhibition most of the pupils prefer the modern day setup in their own classrooms.
Exhibits have been donated by local people. The 'Seen But Not Heard' exhibition is part of a national tour organised by the local authorities museums network. The next destination for the exhibition is Donegal and over the next two years it will go on display in 13 museums.
Curator of the exhibition at Cavan County Museum Dominic Egan says that the aim is to create memories for people.
Take people down memory lane.
