A new line-up of the Irish traditional music group Planxty gives a performance of the English folk song William Taylor on The Late Late Show.

Fresh from a tour of the United Kingdom, the popular Irish traditional music group Planxty are about to embark on an Irish tour. This tour begins in the Ulster Hall in Belfast and ends at the National Stadium in Dublin.

Planxty have a new line-up that sees original members Andy Irvine and Liam Óg O'Flynn joined by keyboard player Bill Whelan, who was previously in the band in 1980 - 1981. New band members are Dolores Keane, formerly of De Danann, on vocals, Arty McGlynn on guitar, and James Kelly on fiddle.

This new look Planxty gives a performance of the English folk song 'William Taylor' on 'The Late Late Show'. The song tells of young woman who poses as a man and becomes a sailor so that she can search for her fiancé William Taylor. When she finds him, she shoots him and his new suitor.
