At the fifth Young Scientist competition in Dublin students share their research, ideas and warnings.

The Intercontinental Hotel in Dublin is the venue for the Young Scientist competition, almost three months later than originally planned.

Scheduled for early January at the RDS (Royal Dublin Society), the Young Scientist was postponed due to the foot and mouth epidemic.

Máire Therese O’Neill a student at St Dominic’s College in Cabra conducted studies on the disease phenylketonuria.

Another student looked at the damaging effects of pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers and warns that change is needed.

By 1975 we should be all but dead. The human race should be nearly extinct by then.
