Amateur wine makers gather in Dublin for the eighth National Home Winemaking Championships.
A wide variety of ingredients including bananas, dandelions, peaches, tea and coffee have been used to produce the wines that are tasted and judged in Saint Gabriel's Community Centre in Clontarf.
As Belfast wine maker and prize winner Dick Young explains, fruit from the humble bramble is also perfectly suited for home wine making,

Standards are high here, and judges will dock points for presentation and general appearance of bottles. One tip from experienced wine maker and prize winner Mabel Young is to ensure you have enough wine for consumption and competitions
Make five gallons instead of one.

Patience.
