A statement about the homeless in Dublin is made by using election posters to make a house.

In the lead up to the 2007 general election RTÉ provided the largest ever coverage for an election in Ireland. Among the more interesting reports in the lead up to the election were looks at the effectiveness of campaign posters and impact of election campaigning on the environment.

The 'Six One' evening news ends with footage of election posters being put to an alternative use by a homeless person in Dublin. A small house has been made out of the posters on a site outside Portobello College near La Touche Bridge (Portobello Bridge).

All election losers and winners will face a financial penalty if they fail to remove old election posters by 30 may 2007.

The general election took place on 24 May 2007. It resulted in the formation of a coalition government between Fianna Fáil, the Green Party and the Progressive Democrats.
