A presentation is made to Seán Lemass to mark his retirement as Taoiseach.

To mark the retirement of Seán Lemass as Taoiseach, the Fianna Fáil parliamentary party holds a special presentation dinner in his honour. About 100 Teachta Dála's (TDs), Senators and their partners attend the event held in the Dáil restaurant in Leinster House.

Seán Lemass is presented with a stereophonic radiogram by North Kerry Teachta Dála (TD) Thomas McEllistrim. Mary Killilea, wife of the Senator Mark Killilea presents Seán Lemass 's wife Kathleen with a bracelet. Thomas McEllistrim and Mark Killilea were among the deputies who took their Dáil seats with Seán Lemass in 1927.

The presentations are made on behalf of the Fianna Fáil TDs and Senators. Taoiseach and leader of the Fianna Fáil party Jack Lynch presides over proceedings.

Seán Lemass announced his decision to resign as Taoiseach and leader of the Fianna Fáil party on 8 November 1966.
