U2 singer Bono drops into RTÉ 2FM ahead of the release of a new album and world tour.

With a new album 'Pop' due for release on 3 March, U2 singer Bono was in 2FM for an interview with Dave Fanning.

The band with a small name rocketed back up the charts this month with a cracking song called 'Discoteque'.

The attention focused on whether or not a U2 concert at the Phoenix Park in Dublin would go ahead in the summer. Acknowledging that there were planning difficulties, Bono is still hopeful that the concert will go ahead.

In New York last week, U2 announced their PopMart Tour running for 18 months covering 62 cities. There is even the prospect of a show in China.

As Ireland's biggest band cranks up for another tour around the globe both the hype and the champagne are just beginning to flow.
