Seán Ó Cróinín from Inchigeelagh in Cork sings 'The Boys of the Cross' also known as 'The Trip to Gougane'.

Seán Ó Cróinín (Johnny Cronin) is a native of Inchigeelagh in west Cork but now lives in the  south Cork village of Drinagh. He introduces the humorous song known as ‘The Boys of the Cross’ or the ‘The Trip to Gougane’. The song recounts an excursion made by some of the parishioners of Kilnamartyra to the beauty spot of Gougane Barra in County Cork.

The local poets I suppose made some verses about it and it was added onto it and it became a big long song and it is sung very much around the area today.
