The marching bands of the Orange Order and the Ancient Order of Hibernians parade together in Raphoe.

The community of Raphoe came together yesterday to celebrate the improvements to the Donegal town.

Ten thousand pounds has been spent on a scheme to upgrade the Diamond in the centre of Raphoe, which now has a band stand, gardens, and a car park. Financed by the Department of Government and Donegal County Council it was officially opened by the Regional Tourism Manager Eamon Hoy.

Large numbers turned out to see the local Orange Lodge band and the band of the Ancient Order of Hibernians join ranks and parade through the town together, for the first time in living memory.
