The Ireland cricket team get some practice in and discuss ways to deal with pace bowling.

Following a serious injury to New Zealand batsman, Ewen Chatfield in a test match against England Sports Stadium asks just how perilous is cricket?

Bill O'Herlihy visits the Irish Cricket Team training session at Belvedere College to learn about the sport and talks to players about the dangers of the game.

At an indoor practice session, Ireland pace bowler Alec O'Riordan says,

Cricket is dangerous depending on the particular level and the ability of the players. At international level it is a pretty tiring game, it is a hard fought game and can obviously be dangerous but it is not as dangerous as perhaps it is made out to be.

Fellow Ireland international David Pigot describes how a batsman looks to deal with a cricket ball travelling at up to a hundred miles an hour. He believes the 'bouncer' is a legitimate weapon for bowlers but thinks that is overused.

The truth of the matter I suppose is that many Irish players will not be able to cope with really fast bowling. They are not able to cope with it anymore than test players are.
