Alarm raised as a man with shotgun is found on the Kinsealy estate which is home to the Taoiseach Charles Haughey.

Gardai were called when the Taoiseach's son Sean Haughey noticed a young man armed with a shotgun wandering around the grounds at the Haughey Kinsealy home. When questioned by Gardai it turned out that the man was a Spanish student who had been staying in nearby Portmarnock.

The shotgun was legally held by the man who said he had no idea he was on the Taoiseach's land and he was just hunting pigeons.  This explanation was accepted and the student was released having been held for six hours.
