Barry McGuigan retains his European Featherweight title
On 5 June 1984 "The Clones Cyclone" Barry McGuigan retained his title as European Featherweight champion in a fight against Esteban Eguia.
McGuigan beat Spain's Eguia inside three rounds to retain the European featherweight title at the Royal Albert Hall in London. This was McGuigan's twentieth win in twenty-one fights and his first time defending his European title.
One of the most exciting boxers in European and indeed world boxing.
McGuigan started his professional boxing career in 1981 and in 1985 became the WBA featherweight champion.
