Preparations at RTÉ for the broadcast of the National Song Contest.
National Song Contest presenter Mike Murphy and the production team are at work in preparation for the show.
Each of the eight composers will receive a hundred pounds and for the winner an additional five hundred pounds and of course entry in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The Eurovision Song Contest is to be held on the 22 April 1978.
Colm Wilkinson went on to win the National Song Contest and represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 1978 where he came in fifth place.
