Carol singing - New European record
Carol singing - New European record

A new European record for carol singing has been set in Co Kilkenny.

More than 3,600 people turned up at Nowlan Park this afternoon and sang non-stop for 32 minutes, thus setting a new Irish and European record for the biggest Christmas carol service ever held.

The event has helped raise thousands of euros for local charities.

Organisers say they will attempt to break the World Record next year.
