In 2008, the St Patrick's Day Festival moved its "Skyfest" outside of Dublin for the first time and held the fireworks display at the Rock of Cashel.

RTÉ News reports on the largest fireworks display ever held in Ireland. The Skyfest is in Cashel County Tipperary.

RTÉ reporter Damien Tiernan reports from Cashel with spectacular fireworks co-ordinated to music. Five and a half tonnes of fireworks are used during the 16 minute display. The report shows spectators arriving early and enjoying the display by night.

Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and his feast day is celebrated on March 17th.
