An introduction to Seamus Heaney given by fellow-poet Dennis O'Driscoll in 2004.

The closest thing to a full-length biographical work of Heaney during his lifetime was "Stepping Stones", a collection of interviews conducted by his friend and fellow-poet Dennis O'Driscoll published in 2008. O'Driscoll died suddenly in 2012.

This is an introduction to Heaney and his work given by O'Driscoll at a reading at the Poetry Now festival in Dun Laoghaire in 2004. O'Driscoll humorously and lyrically sums up the main themes and elements of Heaney's poetry, from the Derry farmhouse to the republic of conscience.
