Train robber Bruce Reynolds and his wife Frances spotted on mail boat crossing to Rosslare Harbour.

On 8 August 1963 a gang led by Bruce Reynolds stole £2.6 million from the Royal Mail travelling Post Office train on route from Glasgow to London in the United Kingdom.

About a week after the robbery, Cyn Richards chief purser of the British Railways mail steamer St David is certain he saw Bruce Reynolds on the crossing from Fishguard in Wales to Rosslare Harbour in County Wexford. He describes Bruce Reynolds as tall and well dressed but,

He seemed to be very, very nervous and he kept walking around the whole time.

Cyn Richards believes the fugitive’s wife Frances Reynolds travelled to Rosslare Harbour on a separate sailing, but he did not take much notice of her. A first class stewardess on the St David, Veronica Lampit, observed the female passenger had a white poodle.

Cyn Richards has not being in touch with Scotland Yard about the sightings, but has spoken to local police in Fishguard and An Garda Síochána in Rosslare.
