The Roach Band from Wexford perform their second single 'Italy'.
Formed in 1978, this lineup of the Roach Band is Billy Roche on vocals, Paul Spencer on guitar, Des Gaffney on guitar, Mick Odlum on bass and Alan McGuire on drums.
The Roach Band television special ‘Year of the Roach’ was filmed in 1979 and shown on the RTÉ music series ‘TX’. ‘Year of the Roach’ was shot in studio, and on location in the band's hometown Wexford. The film features six original songs written by band members Billy Roche and Mike Odium including their second single ‘Italy’ released in June 1979.
This episode of ‘TX’ was broadcast on 7 February 1980.
