A community group in Tralee celebrates Irish traditions and culture through music and dancing.

Performances of traditional music accompanied by lively demonstrations of farm practices from the past are presented by Siamsóirí na Ríochta led by Liam Tarrant.

The group use tools which are replicas of those from the last century to present Irish music with the rythm of rural work in the past.

Father Pat Ahern is a curate in St John's, Tralee, and director of the parish choir. He brought the group together to preserve and promote local music, dance and traditional customs. Fr Ahern acknowledges that Irish music is enjoying a revival, but he wanted to add a visual element to the presentation.

In order to attract a wider public it needs a visual help.
