Artists invite the public to use Christmas trees in a once-off installation on Sandymount strand.
With Christmas officially over, it is time for the decorations to be taken down, and Christmas tree disposal.
This afternoon Dublin artists Barbara Nealon and Tara Kennedy shone a light on Christmas tree recycling facilities at Sandymount Strand. They invited members of the public to bring their trees here during low tide, and plant them temporarily to create,
Something spectacular and beautiful.
Approximately two hundred trees were put in place by volunteers. The full effect will be visible at high tide this evening, when the trees
Stand still as they are, and be surrounded by water.
