Clare beat Limerick to win the Munster Hurling Final for the first time in 63 years.

Tension turned to joy in Semple Stadium, Thurles as Clare became Munster Hurling Champions for the first time since 1932. Clare side took an early lead with a point from Ger O'Loughlane seven minutes into the game. Five minutes before half-time, a penalty was awarded to Clare. Goalkeeper David Fitzgerald stepped up to score a goal from the penalty spot.

He smashed the sliotar to the net.

At half-time, Clare led by a point and dominated the second half.

The final score was Clare 1-17 to Limerick 0-11.

After the match, Clare selector Tony Considine spoke about the game, the hunger of the players to win and what this win means to County Clare.
