Over 500 of Ireland's most eligible bachelors have applied to be escorts at the Rose of Tralee.

The fifty applicants who made the short list to be Rose of Tralee escorts were put through a series of interviews.

Rose of Tralee organisers say they are looking for polite gentlemen with a sense of humour and no girlfriends. The successful twenty nine males will be escorts to the roses at the festival in August. Rhona Bradshaw, a judge from Smart Telecom, says,

We like that they are nice polite guys that will treat the girls really well.

Being an escort appears to be a lot of fun but actually getting the job can be a tricky process.
