Mary McEvoy makes her final appearance as Biddy in Glenroe.
Mary McEvoy leaves the soap 'Glenroe' when a story line has her character Biddy Byrne killed in a car crash. One of the biggest audiences ever tuned in to see just how Biddy would make her exit from the long running drama series.
The farm owned by Biddy and Miley Byrne was facing financial trouble. In a scene in Biddy's final episode, the couple's daughter Denise, played by Bláthnaid Treacy, comes up with a solution to address their financial woes. However the life of Biddy Byrne ended when she took her eye off the road and collided with a tractor.
Mary McEvoy is from a farming background and has no plans to take another role in a rural soap. She would prefer to play a part with a bit more glamour.
Now that Biddy is dead, the question remains as to what will become of poor Miley Byrne.
