Harbour Hotel was a long-running radio soap which was broadcast at lunchtimes on RTÉ Radio.
This is a clip from the first ever episode which was broadcast on 1 April 1975. We meet Solicitor Aiden Belton, played by Jim Reid and Miss Kathryn O'Connell, played by Barbara McCaughey who has been left the Harbour Hotel by her Great Aunt Mary.
The soap is set in the fishing village of Kilmahon between Arklow and Skibbereen. The programme was written by Lee Dunne. The script editor was Noel Jones and produced by Frank O'Dwyer. The popular soap ran until 28 December 1990.
