Kevin McAleer provides another of his rambling tales about growing up in a family of seventeen.
Off beat Omagh comedian Kevin McAleer with his deadpan, slow Tyrone drawl, recalls growing up in a family of 17. The family members were all quick-witted, intelligent, individuals.
We were as sharp, really, as two planks.
In a surreal twist of the tale, Kevin McAleer recalls how these planks would try to pull the wool over the eyes of the family members. This involved catching sheep and herding them through the bedroom window during the night.
There'd be glass and wood and wool everywhere.
On being rudely awoken his grandfather would threaten the planks,
Get out of this bedroom now, or youse will get a clip, and away they would go with their tail between what we used to call their legs.
