People who have made significant contributions to the lives of other citizens are recognised by Bray.
A variety of awards were presented at the fifth Bray and District Chamber of Commerce Endeavour Awards.
Irene Hynes received the Person of the Year award recognising three decades of commitment to the community. In that time she has helped to establish the Marino Clinic for children with disabilities, Bray Old Folks Association, and a meals on wheels service.
Willie Hughes of Nixdorf Computer International received the industry prize, and CIÉ (Córas Iompair Éireann) received the tourism award in recognition of the benefits the DART rail service is bringing to the Bray tourism sector.
Bray historian and author Christy Brien took home the arts and culture award.
Olive Quinn, Corragín Hughes and Mary Hackett started Open Door day activity centre in Bray the centre last year, and received the civic affairs award for seeing a need and doing something about it.
