The Garda Síochána Boat Club celebrates its 21st anniversary and receives a new racing boat.

As part of the celebrations to mark the 21st anniversary of the Garda Síochána Boat Club John Bruton, parliamentary secretary to the Minister for Education, baptised a new racing boat in Islandbridge, Dublin. The boat was presented to the club by An Bord Bainne. The shell named 'Kerrygold' was built in Germany by world famous boat builders Karlish.

The members of the Garda Senior 8 lost little time at Islandbridge in floating their new boat.

The Garda senior eight crew are the reigning Irish rowing champions and have successfully competed overseas.
