Italian carftsmen are creating mosaic art works at their studio in Roscommon.
Mosart Studios Ltd of Abbeytown, Roscommon, are specialists in artistic mosaics and mosaic assembly.
Three Italians, brothers Luciano and Tullio de Paoli and Sergio Benedetti came to Ireland in the late 1940s to work as artists for John Crean who ran a ceramic mosiac factory in the town, and opened Mosart Studios in 1969.
Visitors to Roscommon town can now see the artist craftsmen at work creating mosaics for buildings both secular and ecclesiastic. They receive commissions from all over Ireland and the United Kingdom.
