Journalists get bird's eye view from a chimney at the new electricity generating station in Ringsend.
In order to meet the increasing demand for electricity consumption in Dublin city, the ESB (Electricity Supply Board) is constructing a new electricity generating station at Pigeon House Road, Ringsend.
The most striking aspect of the first phase of the project is its chimney. Designed to minimise air pollution, it will measure 207 metres in height when completed and will be Ireland's tallest structure. Reinforced concrete ensures stability Dubliners can watch the tower rise higher by the day.
