Cars stolen, stones thrown and Gardaí and motorists attacked in Finglas.
Garda reports said that of the sixteen stolen cars found in the Finglas area four vehicles were burnt out.
One car was burnt out at the junction of Cardiffsbridge Road and Glenties Drive. When Gardaí attended the scene, stones were thrown at their patrol car. Firemen were prevented from putting the fire out.
About 150 youths were involved in the incident and they also threw stones at other cars passing the scene.
Stones were also thrown at Garda reinforcements with one officer receiving a slight foot injury. No arrests were made. However, five people were arrested in connection with other incidents in relation to the theft of cars.
