Street artists produce works for the open air gallery Outvasion in Temple Bar Dublin.
'Outvasion' aims to change the image of street art by facilitating artists to produce and exhibit work and inviting members of the public to see how the images are created.
In the artistic family, graffiti and street art are the rebellious younger children, seldom appreciated by their elders.
Street artist Kemp explains the difference between freestyle graffiti and the stencil work of street art. He acknowledges that both have a bad reputation.
I think Outvasion will help to dispel all that, that there is great talent in this country.
The exhibition takes place in a laneway next to the Olympia Theatre and forms part of the Love the Lanes initiative, organised by Temple Bar and Dublin City Council which hopes to revitalise laneways in the capital.
Claudia Murray, The Temple Bar Company, explains that the objective is to animate the laneways and help engage with the Dublin cultural scene. The hope is to convert these laneways, described as no-go areas to places that people want to visit.
