The World Cup Trout Wet Fly Angling Competition takes place at Lough Mask in Mayo.
There were 700 hopeful anglers from 13 countries competing in the competition at Lough Mask near Ballinrobe, County Mayo..
Welcome to the World Cup Wet Fly Trout Angling Championships.
The competition consisted of four heats and a final. Weather conditions throughout the competition were ideal and the catch was high. Prizes included cups, caps, angling jackets, an outboard motor, and a piece of cut glass for the lady competitor with the heaviest catch. There are also prizes for the boatmen who bring in the winners.

The overall winner was local man Don Jennings from Ballinrobe who caught a five pound trout.
