Former Garda cars, repossessed cars, and vehicles that were clamped but never claimed up for sale.
Nine cars which were clamped and towed away by Dublin Corporation but which were never claimed by their owners are sold off at auction.
Advertisements had been placed in newspapers warning the owners their cars were about to be disposed of but no one came forward.
These are cars that were clamped but were never claimed by their owners.
Lotts 161 to 169 were part of a larger auction of over a hundred cars. Many of the cars were Garda cars or cars that had been repossessed by financial institutions.
Some people attending the auction were not that surprised that some of the cars were never claimed.
Some of them are bangers, total bangers.
However, there was a lot of interest in one car, a collector's item, a 280 Mercedes-Benz Coupe which sold for £2,700. This car was bought by Tom Crosby from Roscommon looks forward to restoring it. All of the abandoned vehicles were sold with one buyer getting three cars for £200. Six of the cars can not be driven away just yet as they have no keys.
