Plans to celebrate the life of Arthur Guinness in the 250th year of the Guinness brewery.

Black Eyed Peas, Kasabian, The Undertones and Estelle are among the acts lined up to celebrate 'Arthur's Day' in September.

Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000 year lease on the land where the Guinness brewery is now located in Dublin. The lease itself is one of the main attractions for visitors to the Guinness Storehouse. Now 250 years into that lease Guinness have plans to mark the anniversary with Arthur's Day to celebrate the life of the brewer.

Grainne Wafer, head of marketing at Guinness, says that Arthur's Day is just one of a series of events to mark the anniversary.

We're going to see some of the biggest names in music come here to Dublin to celebrate with us and raise a glass to this remarkable man.

As part of the anniversary, the Arthur Guinness Fund, which is worth €2.5 million, has been established to help local communities.

Jasmine Guinness, ancestor of Arthur Guinness, says,

I think Arthur would be very proud of how it is being celebrated.

Arthur's Day musical celebrations will also take place in Lagos, Kuala Lumpur and New York.

Arthur's Day officially kicks off at 17:59 on 24 September.
