Northern Ireland Prime Minister Captain Terence O'Neill opens the new University of Ulster.

Representatives from all the Irish universities, religious bodies, the judiciary, the Northern Parliament and local authorities attended the opening ceremony for the Ulster University.

The new university has enrolled 400 students including 40 postgraduate students whiles 65 members of academic staff have been appointed. Terence O'Neill in his address at the opening ceremony calls for students to show tolerance which he describes as the best companion to intellect.

One day, perhaps, one of you will stand on a similar platform at the opening of our third or even our fourth university.
