Three Irish models walk their way into the Guinness Book of Records.
Flamingos Nightclub at Parkes Hotel in Stillorgan is the location for a record breaking fashion show. RTÉ Radio 2 disc jockey Marty Whelan is the host for the event.
One of the rules is that there is only one compere.
A group of Australian models set a previous record for walking forty eight miles of ramp in as many hours.
The catwalk here saw models Roberta Brown and Lorraine McCourt break that record, walking fifty three miles in forty eight hours, while their colleague Eddie Warke clocked up an impressive sixty two miles during that time.
This demanding challenge was broken up by five minutes rest for every hour participants spent on their feet, as stipulated by Guinness Book of Records rules.
One hundred and seventy outfits ranging from underwear to evening gowns and suits were modelled by the three record breakers in an event which was open to the public, and also raised funds for the Cancer Society, the Arthritis Foundation, Rehab and the Cheshire Homes.
