Performers and music fans from around the world will be at the Cork Folk Festival.
The Cork Folk Festival celebrating 14 years is opened by the Lord Mayor of Cork John Murray at the Old Women's Prison. The mayor recalls Radio Éireann broadcasting from the same location back in 1945 where he sang as a boy soprano.

The eclectic mix of music and dance over the weekend includes performances from Jimmy McCarthy and The Joyful Mysteries, Altan, Cor Cuil Aodha, Gerry Harrington, Eoghan O'Sullivan, The Frank Gavin Quartet, Jim Page, Roy Book Binder, Andy Irvine, Seamus Begley, Steve Cooney, The Temple House Céilí Band and many more.
