Kilkenny beat Dublin to be Leinster champions and take their place in the All Ireland Hurling Final.

Dublin and Kilkenny contested the Leinster Senior Hurling Final at Croke Park in front of 33,438 fans.

Mick Bermingham got the first score of the game for Dublin in a half they dominated until a Kilkenny goal just before the break left the score Dublin 0-07 Kilkenny 1-03.

The second half was controlled by Kilkenny. After seven minutes a Seán Clohessy point gave Kilkenny the lead 1-05 to 0-7.

A Seán Clohessy goal put Kilkenny further ahead 2-06 to 0-07.

The final score was Dublin 0-9 Kilkenny 2-10.

Kilkenny would go on to win the All Ireland Hurling Final beating Waterford on 1 September 1963 with a final score of 4-17 to 6-8.
