Snakes and Spanish street theatre are part of the four day Saint Patrick's Festival.
The legend may be that Saint Patrick banished snakes from Ireland, but children in Dublin Zoo today were queuing up for an encounter with these exotic creatures, to the delight of zookeeper Eddie O'Brien,
Kids love them...they think it’s fantastic.
In Dublin city centre there was traditional Irish dancing, and a night parade which includes a performance by Els Comediants, the internationally renowned Spanish street theatre company from Barcelona.
The Dublin parade starts tomorrow at noon, and Gardaí have advised motorists that diversions will be in place nationwide in order to facilitate parades both big and small. People are being advised not to drink and drive, and there will be plenty of Garda checkpoints across the country.
